Community Spotlight: Our Shared Future
Today, we walk alongside all peoples.
Throughout this pilgrimage, we have prayed for families from many nations and reflected on the experiences of people who have been displaced by war, persecution, violence, poverty, and disaster. We have remembered that every journey carries both hardship and hope.
Yet every story also points beyond itself – to God’s promise that one day people from every nation, tribe, language, and culture will stand together before His throne. The diversity we experience today is not an obstacle to God’s Kingdom. It is a glimpse of its beauty.
Today, we give thanks for the countless ways newcomers strengthen our communities and pray that God will continue to form us into people who reflect His welcome.
Scripture: Revelation 7:9 – “After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb.”
Reflection
The Bible begins in a garden.
It ends with a multitude.
From Genesis to Revelation, God is gathering a people from every nation, tribe, language, and culture into one family. The divisions that so often separate humanity are not the final word. Christ is making all things new.
Every act of welcome offered in His name points toward that coming Kingdom.
When we receive the stranger, build friendships across cultures, and create communities of belonging, we participate in God’s work of reconciliation. We become living witnesses to the future He has promised.
Our pilgrimage may be ending, but God’s work continues.
The invitation before us is not simply to remember what we have read but to live out the joy of welcome.
Pilgrim’s Prayer
God of the nations, thank You for inviting people from every nation, tribe, language, and culture into Your family. Thank You for the people we have remembered throughout this pilgrimage and for the ways they have revealed more of Your heart to us. Continue to transform us into people of welcome. May our churches reflect Your hospitality, our neighborhoods reflect Your compassion, and our lives reflect Your love. Until the day we stand together before Your throne, help us to live as ambassadors of Your Kingdom, bearing witness to the hope, peace, and reconciliation found in You. Amen.

May the Lord bless you and keep you as you continue your journey. May Christ deepen your love for every neighbor. May the Holy Spirit give you courage to welcome the stranger, seek justice, extend mercy, and walk humbly with God. And may your life become a living reflection of the Kingdom where every tribe, every nation, every people, and every language will worship together before the Lamb. Amen.
