Our world feels noisy, divided, and exhausted. Many of us feel pulled into our own corners.
Yet at Della Lamb, we see something different every day:

Neighbors showing up for neighbors.
Kindness bridging cultures.
Hope taking root in simple, ordinary moments.

Della Lamb has long been known for several areas of our work, including our Refugee Services program. And while the future of national resettlement is uncertain, our commitment to the refugees and immigrants who already call Kansas City home remains strong.

This year, we’re bringing our programs together — because the families in our Early Education Center, our refugee programs, and our reimagined 2026 Youth Center are deeply connected. Many of our kids, youth, and parents rely on more than one Della Lamb doorway.

Together means supporting the whole family, at every stage, so our neighbors can move toward stability and self-sufficiency.

WHAT FAMILIES ARE FACING THIS YEAR

In 2025, families are experiencing a “stacking” of challenges:

Reduced SNAP benefits: Many families lost food assistance or saw major decreases.
Higher prices: Groceries, utilities, diapers, cleaning products, and gas cost more than ever.
Refugee families rebuilding: New arrivals come with courage, ready to start anew.
Early ed families stretched thin: Working parents are balancing multiple jobs, tight income, and rising costs.
Housing instability: Affordable housing shortages continue to push families toward instability.

Your gift fills real, immediate gaps for real families.

HOW THE TOGETHER TREE WORKS

Purchase the item listed on your ornament. These examples help guide you:

Food Support: $25 Aldi Gift Cards

We use Aldi gift cards because they stretch further, allowing families to purchase fresh produce, pantry staples, and essential groceries. Della Lamb distributes these gift cards based on family size, so every household receives the level of support they need.

Prefer to give online instead of purchasing a card?
You can donate $25 through our online giving form HERE, and we will purchase an Aldi gift card on your behalf.

Hygiene

If your ornament lists $15 Hygiene Essentials, here are example items you can purchase (choose 3–5 items):
- Shampoo
- Bar soap or body wash
- Deodorant
- Toothpaste
- Toothbrush (multi-pack is great)
- Hand soap
- Disposable razors
- Lotion

Winter Clothing

Children’s or adult winter coat
Gloves, hats, scarves

SENDING YOUR GIFT:

Please return your purchased item or gift card to the Together Tree location where you picked up your ornament OR mail directly to Della Lamb.

Each church or partner site will share their collection deadline.
