Early Education

Lead Teacher (Infant-4s)

The Lead Teacher is responsible for providing a developmentally appropriate educational environment and is accountable for their classroom management and operation. Major responsibilities include appropriate interactions with children, communication with parents, collaboration with the Program Director, completion of periodic assessments, and implementation of policies and practices as outlined by Della Lamb and early education guidelines.

An appropriate Missouri Teacher Certification in Early Childhood Education or Early Childhood Special Education is required to serve as a lead teacher in this classroom. An Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education is preferred.

Early Education

Lead Pre-K Teacher

The Lead Teacher is responsible for providing a developmentally appropriate educational environment and is accountable for their classroom management and operation. Major responsibilities include appropriate interactions with children, communication with parents, collaboration with the Program Director, completion of periodic assessments, and implementation of policies and practices as outlined by Della Lamb and early education guidelines.

This teacher will be part of the Kansas City Pre-K Cooperative program. The Kansas City Pre-K Cooperative is an innovative pre-K model that includes local education agencies (LEAs) and early education providers who are dedicated to increasing access to high-quality Pre-K programs. These partnerships will increase kindergarten readiness, improve vertical alignment between pre-K and kindergarten, provide families with collaborative support services, and ultimately increase student achievement. A bachelor’s degree and appropriate Missouri Teacher Certification in Early Childhood Education or Early Childhood Special Education is required to serve as a lead teacher in this classroom.

Driver

As a valued member of Della Lamb’s new EMPOWER team focused on employment and employment retention, the EMPOWER Driver position is designed to respond to the varying logistic and transportation needs of refugee clients for to employment-related activities. The position will provide transportation services to clients throughout the hiring process, including pre-employment and post-employment support as our newest neighbors identify long-term transportation solutions. The Driver may provide transportation services to clients for activities including but not limited to English language learning, job interviews, job pre-screening examinations, appointments at the driver’s license bureau, and transportation support during the initial 90-days of employment.  The EMPOWER Driver will work closely with the Workforce Development team to coordinate client schedules and ensure timeliness with pickups and drop-offs.

Refugee Services Educator

The Refugee Services Educator will be an integral part of the Refugee Support Services team working closely with, and reporting to, the Refugee Support Services Manager. The RSS Educator’s primary purpose is to enhance client well-being. The RSS Educator will lead education programs for the purpose of increasing client self-sufficiency, understanding that self-sufficiency includes a broad range of areas including but not limited to economic self-sufficiency, family stability and community integration. The RSS Educator will also be the Lead educator for Della Lamb’s English Language Learning (“ELL”) program, working with clients to find solutions to English language instruction either at Della Lamb or through a range of community partners. This position requires a commitment to teamwork, patience, adaptability, servant leadership, humility of spirit, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to learning and growth. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality instruction to adult learners, promoting effective communication skills, and facilitating the integration of Refugees into our community.

Specialist - Childcare

The Specialist – Childcare will be responsible for supporting refugee families in accessing and navigating childcare resources and services. The role will provide direct services to refugee families who need assistance in understanding and accessing childcare options and interact with childcare providers across Kansas City to enhance access to childcare.  Further, as part of interacting with families and childcare providers, the Specialist will seek to help newcomers understand the requirements and experience necessitated to work in childcare.  This role requires a compassionate and resourceful individual who can work closely with families to identify and address their childcare needs, ensuring a smooth integration into their new community.

Case Worker - Preferred Communities

The Preferred Communities Case Worker is dedicated to serving those clients who are identified as having unique barriers to reaching self-sufficiency. Colloquially, these clients are known as the vulnerable of the vulnerable, and the Case Worker will provide the highest standards of strengths-based case management to accompany clients towards self-sufficiency. Along with direct client service, the employee will be exploring, developing, and maintaining healthy partnerships with service providers and stakeholders to serve the vulnerable with Della Lamb.

Case Worker - Reception & Placement

The Refugee Services Case Worker will oversee and assist with Della Lamb’s efforts to provideall the core services as required by the Reception & Placement Cooperative Agreement. The case worker will work with the client and colleagues to develop an individual service plan for the initial and extended resettlement, employing a strengths-based approach centered on the client’s ownership of the resettlement process. The case worker will actively work with case aides and volunteers to participate in the resettlement process. The case worker must be eager to demonstrate hospitality towards the newly resettled and to build trust with clients. The case worker will also assist in providing services as part of Della Lamb’s broader services to refugees.

Specialist - Transportation

As a valued member of Della Lamb’s new EMPOWER team, this position is focused on employment access and employment retention. The Transportation Specialist position is designed to respond to the varying logistical and transportation needs of refugee clients as part of their employment search and placement process, including pre-employment and post-employment activities. The Transportation Specialist will assist in identifying barriers to employment and assist both clients and employers in successfully addressing them. The Transportation Specialist will provide direct client services, engage with employer partners and other community stakeholders, and coordinate case management activities with Della Lamb colleagues.

Case Worker - Matching Grant

This position will oversee and coordinate case management services as part of our Matching Grant program, an employment-based case management program that supports newcomers ready to enter the workforce. The case worker will work closely with clients and colleagues to develop client-centric goals for initial employment and the extended resettlement process. The case manager will also seek to cultivate healthy partnerships with employers, community agencies, and volunteers to address the needs of program participants and to enhance cultural orientation provided to clients.
