We are thrilled to share some heartwarming highlights and photos with you from the month of March.
To begin the month, our partners at Berry Global hosted a Realistic Job Preview through their Workforce Development program. Our clients could see the plant, learn from current employees and envision what a typical workday would look like. Berry Global does a great job of not only providing a dignified and sustainable work environment for ALL employees but also wants to ensure their employees feel like they’re a good match for Berry!
We welcomed many refugee families to Kansas City in March, including a family of 11! We are grateful to have the opportunity to provide a safe and welcoming environment for them. The new airport has proved to be easy to navigate for clients and team members, and it’s a beautiful first step into KC for our new neighbors.
In addition, we had the pleasure of witnessing a beautiful reunion between loved ones who had been apart for years. It was an emotional moment for everyone involved, and we feel honored to have been a part of it (see the reunion below!).
We also had a fantastic response to our baby shower drive, which saw us receiving over $5,000 worth of donated items. This will go a long way in supporting newly arrived refugee mothers in our community and ensuring their babies have everything they need to thrive. We are thrilled that University Health hosted two neonatal tours for our expecting clients who recently arrived in the United States. One group was from Afghanistan, and the other was from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. These tours provide valuable information and support to these mothers as they prepare to bring new life into the world.
